- DaaS
SOLUTE is developing next generation architectures for CANES. This effort includes analyzing, designing, developing, prototyping, and testing future hardware and software systems in support of the coming big data analytics requirements for CANES and CANES Agile Core Services (ACS). Topics of research have included: Software Defined Networking, Software Defined Storage, Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, Data as a Service (Data Virtualization), and advanced hardware computing architectures. SOLUTE’s System Administrators and Network Engineers have built a fully representative CANES instance in SOLUTE’s SPARC lab, and have integrated many emerging technologies into this environment. The ultimate goal is to transition CANES to a software defined architecture that can support elastic computing, auto scaling, containerized software deployment and support the Platform as a Service objectives of CANES Objective Baseline 2, CANES Software 3, and CANES ACS 3.0.
SOLUTE is currently on schedule to perform an afloat test of this system in Trident Warrior and is also on schedule to perform several evaluations in the E2C lab at NIWC PAC. SOLUTE has developed the prototype (hardware and software), developed test plans, C&A plans, and coordinated with all parties to ensure a successful test event where relevant data and feedback can successfully be obtained from the Fleet.
