Senior Enterprise Architect,   #10-10

SOLUTE Consulting is seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect in Pax River, MD.  Candidate will be responsible for developing Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) views and Unified Modeling Language (UML) products in a team environment. The ideal candidate would be an experienced system of systems (SoS) and family of systems (FoS) Enterprise Architect who has demonstrated success developing enterprise architectures in collaboration with government engineers on DoD acquisition programs, and who has expertise in using recognized architecture software tools such as System Architect, IBM Rational Software Architect, or Enterprise Architect.

Position Scope:

  • Analyze system requirements, review systems documentation, and review Concept of Operations documents to develop Business Process Models and DoDAF views
  • Participate as a member of the SOLUTE Integration and Architecture Support Cell (IASC), supporting several enterprise architecture development projects for SOLUTE
  • Provide input to Joint Capabilities & Integration Development System (JCIDS) documentation
  • Lead and/or participate in project reviews with SOLUTE team and government customers
  • Utilize Enterprise Architecture tools 
  • Provide weekly and monthly report inputs for IASC Lead and Project Managers; including work estimates, schedule inputs, and metric data
  • Present enterprise architecture products and analysis to government clients and working groups
  • Mentor Junior Architects

Required Qualifications: 

  • BS degree in technical area, preferably Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum two years of systems engineering (SoS or Fos), or architecture modeling experience
  • Experience Developing UML use cases and diagrams 
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoDAF) version 1.5/2.0, developing architecture models/views
  • Familiarity with IBM Rational Software Architect
  • Experience supporting Navy-related Command, Control, Computers, Communications, and information (C4I) projects
  • Experience with data analysis using Microsoft Excel, Access, and similar tools
  • Skillful at adapting communication and presentation styles to win collaboration from various stakeholders while presenting and explaining enterprise architecture strategy and views

Technology Demonstration Project Transition Manager, Air Integration Project Officer,   #06-10

SOLUTE Consulting has a project leadership opportunity for an analyst to provide transition management guidance and acquisition expertise to US Government clients participating in a Research and Development Technology Demonstration.  The candidate will spearhead the transition of advanced computing, networking and communications technologies to Navy programs of record. The initiative has demonstrated airborne networking, routing and communications cross-banding capability to support Joint Warfighters.  The project will culminate in the successful transition of selected capabilities to Navy programs of record at PEO C4I and Aviation Program Offices. Direct liaison with technology partners at the Naval Research Laboratory, Chief of Naval Operations staff, Joint Service and Component Commander Staff and industry will be required.

Position Scope:

  • Support client efforts to transition R&D demonstrated and matured technologies to Navy Program’s of Record
  • Support the client in directing the transition efforts through laboratory experiments and live flight demonstrations
  • Evaluate candidate technologies for suitability to transition, determine which programs of record are appropriate transition targets, and provide acquisition expertise to accomplish cost-effective transition. Responsibilities include providing the government client with schedule and process guidance as well as ensuring successful transition decisions
  • Facilitate development and coordination of Aircraft C4I and Airborne Networking (AN) Integration for the numerous type/model/series aircraft currently pursuing AN capability

  • Facilitate the roadmapping and programmatic alignment of ANI elements and prospective platforms; coordinate with ANI stakeholders within the Navy and Joint services; develop concepts of operations for ANI applications and services; and develop architecture products for the ANI

SOLUTE Consulting is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work in San Diego.  The applicant should be well-versed in the development of Google-based open source technologies, open-source software trends, and modernization of legacy systems. This position will have an opportunity to work on several diverse and unique defense-related software projects, including, but not limited to, the use of evolving Google technologies such as Google Wave to develop the next generation of Command and Control (C2) applications and a C4I common operational picture modernization project.  The ideal candidate will have extensive systems integration and software design/development experience.  The ideal candidate will also be someone who seeks to use their technical acumen across several programs to augment SOLUTE's vast operational expertise and grow their position within the organization.  Crucial to this position is the ability to network and be self-managed.  Experience with military domain software is desired but not required.

Position Scope:

  • In a team environment, define and develop the software architecture required to implement features and capabilities for new software products
  • Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle (requirements discovery, high level design, detailed design, coding, unit test, integration, system level test)
  • Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of the system design within time and cost constraints
  • Project/Resources management: develop project technical objectives, develop work plan and LOE, storyboard technical plan and resources needed
  • Prepare work estimates, schedule inputs and metric data to project management
